Movie reviews, suggestions and trailers in one place

Project Overview

CinemaPointer is a movie review platform, including Nigerian and international films. Users browse reviews, watch trailers and leave their own comments and suggestions.

I built the site with a dark, cinema style layout, search by title, block and list views and a detail page for each film.

Problem

Reviews were posted on social media where they got lost quickly. There was no searchable archive and no way for fans to react or suggest films.

Solution

I made a searchable library with tabs for CP Reviews, For You and User Suggestions, a movie page with poster carousel, ratings, synopsis, trailer and comments, plus a newsletter signup and links to the CinemaPointer app.

Outcomes

• All reviews searchable in one library
• Switch between block and list views
• Comments and ratings on every movie
• Trailer and details on the same page
• Newsletter and app links to bring people back
